Holy Spirit, Ministry of Conviction

“All this I have told you so that you will not go astray.
They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the father or me. I have told you this, so that when the time comes you will remember that I warned you. I did not tell you this at first because I was with you.
Now I am going to Him who sent me, yet none of you asks me. ‘Where are you going?’ Because I have said these things, you are filled with grief. But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer, and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
I have much more to say to you, more than you can now ear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.
In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.
Some of his disciples said to one another, ‘what does he mean by saying, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me,’ and ‘Because I am going to the Father’?”
John 16:1-17
Worship is the atmosphere of God’s presence. When we worship, the Spirit of the Lord moves in our lives. The presence of the Lord is with us every time we worship, and at that moment God does miracles.

Here we are right now, in the midst of congregation to strive to join the presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ. People who are suffering in illness and diseases that seemingly impossible to be healed can absolutely be healed by God. Medicines and Doctors are only an instrument of God’s power to heal the sick. They are the extended caring hand of God.

Most of the time, the presence of the Lord was oblivious to us. We tend to have our own journey, and walk into our own chosen paths. We had forgotten that the Lord has his own eminent purpose for our lives. His wonders were best described to the wind, we could not conceive it but by the time it’ll occur we could strongly feel its existence.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity. Its’ job is to administrates God’s law for his people. Unfortunately, we often disregard the Holy Spirit’s existence. We’ve been neglectful to recognize its presence.

It is said in the Holy Bible, in the verse that was presented on the previous page that the Lord will talk to us, he will remind us, and teach us. It says that when the spirit of truth comes, he will guide us in all truth. If we recognize the power of God through the Holy Spirit, we will not be in danger. If we would listen to Him, we would restrain ourselves from doing things that we might regret later on.

It was also said that, but when he, the spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. And because the Holy Spirit hears and sees, the Holy Spirit listens to our every word. The Holy Spirit will only speak based on what he hears, and he will respond to us through conviction.
Conviction is felt when we had done something inappropriate. It is to rebuke or to deny, to make it sound convincing for ourselves. There is a whispering “voice” inside of us that reminds us that the act was wrong. This silent voice inside us is the Holy Spirit; it speaks us through our conscience and delivers the Lord’s message. The Holy Spirit is our secret agent.

There are times when the voice inside us became silent; we became deaf into what the Holy Spirit says because our personal desires have been all over us. We ignore the Holy Spirit y giving in to those self-centered cravings in life. You would be ale to hide secrets from other people but the Holy Spirit knows what you have done and he will always remind you to change.

The Holy Spirit wants us to repent for our sins; he wants us to admit it from the first time that we had a conviction. The Holy Spirit wants us to be purely honest to God, to cleanse our heart from guilt and resentment.

Let us put into our mind that when there is no conviction, there would be no conversion. We would never change; we would assume that what would be doing is right because it satisfies our desires. The idea of being aware is not present or existing. Once we felt the conviction y the time we are just about to act, listen and obey on what the Holy Spirit says. Do not make any second thought that will make you feel guilty afterwards. That’s the signal, act upon it.

It was said in John 8:32 that, Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. We should stop being resentful and free ourselves of our since, the past will never happen again unless we continue to do the same mistake over and over again. That’s one of the reasons why we should consider following the will of the Lord because the Lord doesn’t want us to suffer. That before we could ever decide, the Holy Spirit was already there, patiently reminding us of how we should be.

In 1 Corinthians 3:16 the bible says that, “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?” It means that we should be responsible for our bodies that by taking care of it, we would be able to please God.

We should develop the desire to come to God, because this desire will keeps us going. Do you know what dedication means? It means to give your full devotion, to give your full attention and love for God.

Verse 8 says, when he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment. It is said that the Holy Spirit operates with the consent of the Lord; the Lord is the Holy Spirit. He is the voice of conviction that communicates inside of us. We absolutely know if we are committing a sin and by that scenario we are arguing with the Holy Spirit. And that’s were the consequences come into place, everything that we do has their own respective consequences.

For example, you are having a relationship with someone who is already married. You tend to ignore others; you don’t care to anyone but them. Because you said that you are in loved. Your “love” could be so strong that you couldn’t think of rational things. That is not love, for love is patience, kind, not jealous and is willing to take rightful sacrifices (1Corinthians 13). What you might feel is the lust of the flesh, for the other person was already married. And you are tempted to be with that person who is committed to someone else. The Holy Spirit doesn’t wants you to stay trapped on that situation, for everyone who gives in to their flesh would be put to punishment. It was said in Gal. 5:9, “The Lord will perish the people who are doing those things.” But God doesn’t want that, he doesn’t want us to be punished. The Lord wants us to be saved, for he loves us so much.

The Lord will always wait for us to ask forgiveness. Ask him for forgiveness, never be hesitant to approach him and say, “Lord, I am sorry!” Asking for forgiveness would be easy if we will learn how to humble ourselves and have the eagerness to change.

Conviction will continue to remind you your sins to the point that you won’t be able to sleep. You would feel anxiety so much that it will cause you to get sick. Our Lord knows everything that we do, and nothing could slip on his sight.

Some things that we wanted couldn’t be the right thing for us; our own judgment could not see the entire perspective. We could be blinded by our own desire that the justification of the actions that will do would be unnecessary. It was like touching the boiling water ever knowing that it is hot.

Ending a wrong doing could be very painful… at first. It’s like a habit that could be very hard to break. Quitting is though, but manageable. And the key to stop in continuing to commit sin is to build your faith in God.

And it says: not only in regards to sin, but in regards to righteousness. In our lives, God wants us to be righteous, and at the same time religious. Religions always have their flaws, so there is no such thing as perfect religion. But still, we could develop or perfect relationship with God.

Righteousness comes from the Holy Spirit.

God encourages us, through the conviction of the Holy Spirit, to accept that Jesus is only way. The only key for us to be righteous sons of God; Remember that when you accept Jesus in your heart, His righteousness will be in you.

The Holy Spirit convinced the people that Satan is defeated at the cross where Jesus suffered in Calvary 200 years ago. In that way, conviction was given to us so that we could distinguish the doings that could harm us. It would give us wisdom to deceive the plans of Satan.

200 years ago, Satan lost his power. So there is no way that he will continue to control your life. If you will stay in sin, then you would probably remain in sin. You could stand up and walk away from him, and by walking away from him you would be closer to God.

Remember this, in the last days everyone will be put to Judgment (Rom 1). By sinning, we could swallow the judgment. But by obeying, we would receive the reward from God; and that rewards awaits us in heaven.

It is said in the bible, in the midst of crisis the Lord will speak. We just need to listen to the voice of his conviction. The Lord speaks to our hearts; we just need to open it for Him.
